Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort was proud to present a one-of-a-kind premiere experience during the Sacramento River Cats’ Fan Appreciation Day on September 17th. As a dedicated partner to the River Cats, Jackson Rancheria threw out the first pitch, presented a check to the Sutter Gould Medical Foundation Diabetes Program, and gave away $10,000 to one lucky River Cats fan.
To start off the game, a Jackson Rancheria Tribal Member and his family threw out the first pitch of the last home game of the season.
At the end of the 3rd inning, a check was presented by Jackson Rancheria to the Sutter Gould Medical Foundation Diabetes Program. During the 2023 Sacramento River Cats season, for every stolen base at home, Jackson Rancheria pledged to donate $75 to the diabetes program. In total, 61 bases were stolen, bringing the donation total to $4,575.
Lastly, Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort provided 17 lucky River Cats fans with the chance to win a $10,000 Grand Slam Cash Drawing. At each home game from August 16th through September 16th, the River Cats randomly selected three fans to play in a card game of High and Low Cards. The fan who selected the highest card would be entered into the final drawing for the $10,000 cash prize along with receiving a custom Jackson Rancheria jersey and tickets to the Fan Appreciation Day. Additionally, River Cat fans could also enter the contest by submitting their email online through Fan Compass. One lucky fan was chosen through the online entry form for the finale.
The winner of the $10,000 Grand Slam Cash Drawing was chosen between the 7th and 8th inning, where contestants gathered on top of the River Cats’ dugout. The River Cats gave the contestants the signal to open their prize boxes, where one lucky fan won $10,000 and the 16 runner ups won a Play Stay Dine certificate to Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort, plus additional River Cats merchandise items.
“On behalf of Jackson Rancheria, we greatly value our partnership with the Sacramento River Cats, and we are pleased with the awesome events that took place at the last home game of the season,” said Jake Zanetta, General Manager of Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort. “We hope that our donation to the Sutter Gould Medical Foundation Diabetes Program will make a significant impact, and we are excited for our Grand Slam Cash Drawing winner.
