A generous Jackson Rancheria donation of $989,393.57 is helping the Amador Fire Protection District purchase a new Rosenbauer Viper Aerial Apparatus. This modern fire truck will improve emergency response across Amador County and enhance safety at the Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort.

Why a New Fire Truck Is Needed

The new aerial truck will replace Engine 5368, a 2007 Type I Fire Engine that has served the area for almost 20 years. The aging engine now requires frequent maintenance, and replacement parts are hard to find.

The Amador Fire Protection District identified the need for a modern, reliable apparatus. Thanks to the Jackson Rancheria donation, this vital purchase is now possible.

Advanced Features of the Rosenbauer Viper Aerial Apparatus

The Rosenbauer Viper Aerial Apparatus offers cutting-edge firefighting technology. Features include:

  • 65-foot aerial ladder

  • Advanced ground ladders

  • State-of-the-art firefighting equipment

  • 1,500 gallon-per-minute fire flow

Known as a Quint, this truck combines pump, hose, and aerial ladder functions. It will also be Amador County’s only full-time career-staffed aerial apparatus—ensuring fast, expert emergency response.

“Jackson Rancheria recognizes the importance of ensuring that our emergency response teams have the best equipment available to protect both our community and the greater Amador County,” said Crystal Jack, CEO of Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort. “The new fire truck will allow the fire department to continue its excellent service, whether responding to incidents on the reservation or beyond.”

A Lasting Impact on Community Safety

The new truck will protect multi-story buildings, including:

  • Hotels

  • Apartment complexes

  • Commercial structures

Its impact will reach beyond the Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort to serve the entire county.

“This new addition to our fleet will greatly enhance our capacity to respond to emergencies across the district,” said Fire Chief Robert Withrow. “We are deeply grateful to Jackson Rancheria for their continued support and generosity. This donation will help us protect lives and property across Amador County for years to come.”

Jackson Rancheria’s Ongoing Support for Fire Services

Beyond this major Jackson Rancheria donation, the Jackson Band of Miwuk Indians funds the operation of Fire Station 116. Although the station is located on Tribal land, it serves both Tribal and non-Tribal areas.

“We are deeply appreciative of the dedication of our amazing fire crews who ensure the safety of our community,” said Adam Dalton, Chairman of the Jackson Band of Miwuk Indians. “We are honored to continue supporting the efforts of the Amador Fire Protection District in their very important role in our community.”

Strengthening Partnerships in Amador County

This Jackson Rancheria donation highlights the Tribe’s ongoing commitment to public safety and community partnerships. Their leadership and generosity continue to enhance emergency preparedness across Amador County.
